PepePaint: Channel your inner Bob Ross

The creation of PepePaint is inspired by Matt Furie, an American cartoonist and artist, who created the Pepe the Frog meme as part of his comic series, "Boys Club."

It all started with the story of how Matt Furie first illustrated Pepe the Frog on Microsoft Paint. From this tad bit of history we learn why the team decided to create a nostalgically powered dApp to allow you to draw, paint or just doodle, and when you're ready, mint your masterpiece as an NFT in the PepeCoin Paint Gallery.

This art-focused application is a part of the PepeOS Suite of products that also includes PepeExplorer, PepeMessenger, and KekBot

This memetic operating system reflects the mission of PepeCoin founder, Pr0m3theus, when he stated  "Pepecoin becomes the king of meme coins, garnering widespread recognition in the cryptocurrency sphere for its unwavering authenticity, exceptional quality, genuine utility, and dynamic ecosystem. It is designed to set a benchmark as the epitome of what a meme coin should be. A fun, rewarding, utility-rich community focused project, woven together with on brand, easy to use blockchain technologies."

The PepePaint application will remove the difficulty of creating an NFT, allowing users to share their creations with the world without the hindrance of NFT mint service providers. Since being launched in January of 2024, there have been over 4,500 unique art pieces minted to the blockchain. We have witnessed many artistically talented $PepeCoin holders rush in and become PepePaint creators. For many, art creation is a valued hobby, but for others it's a way to monetize their creative talents to make a living or to increase their holdings in the ecosystem. We have heard from artists who earn a few eth a month from their dedication to frequently releasing new art pieces. The top sale so far in the collection was a few weeks back for a whopping 9.69 eth purchase. You love to see it.

HOW TO USE PEPEPAINT

Here is a quick step by step approach to create and mint your first PepePaint piece…

If you need a visual walk-through, here is a great one from community member, Markus.

  1. Create your art in either your preferred application or create directly in dApp natively on pepecoin.io.

  2. Sign in to the website with your eth wallet. Upload or save your file to the dApp.

  3. Select the button to mint the artwork and input the art details which includes a description, quantity, and author info.

  4. Pay the low mint fees in $PepeCoin or $ETH.

  5. Once minted, you'll head to your opensea profile to list the art for sale within the PepePaint gallery

All new PepePaint listings and sales trigger a notification in the $PepeCoin official telegram channel. So each creation will get an opportunity to gain some eyes and awareness from the active holder community.

WHATS NEXT?

There’s a few exciting developments around the future of PepePaint as both a product and a tool to gain more exposure to the token ecosystem! The team has shared that there will soon be a native gallery for PepePaint artists that will be reminiscent of their previous KekDaq solution. This will allow the team and community to showcase and exchange the art with full ownership and creativity. There may even be benefits around royalties and utility with $PepeCoin in the future.

Also!

On June 12 2024, we got news via this tweet that Beeple would be hosting a pepe-themed art festival and $PepeCoin holders were invited with no cost of admission!

In addition to event, Beeple also put out a “Call for Art,” which invited artists to submit their pepe-themed artwork to be featured live in person during the event.

With this call for art, many artists in our community jumped at the opportunity and this resulted in multiple confirmed selections from the Beeple team!

This feels like just the beginning of the story for PepePaint and the community of artist expressing the memetic power of Pepe the Frog and the dev team. The word on the street is that there is a list of prominent OG crypto artists creating and releasing collaborative pieces on the platform soon.

Stay tuned, frens.
